Sims 3 placing tents on community lots

There are three kinds of tents which can be bought. The third is the "Sultan's Tabernacle", which is an adventure reward which can only be only be purchased from the special merchant on trips abroad, and can only be bought with ancient coins. Sims can find tents at general stores in Al Simhara , Champs Les Sims and Shang Simla , but can also buy them in any community lot which has a general store register. Players are allowed to place tents on any lot. However, Sims will be considered to be behaving inappropriately if tents are placed and used on a neighbor's residential lot , as tents are considered as beds.

The "Inappropriate but in a Good Way" lifetime reward can prevent this. On a residential lot they can bought in build mode, but as rental lots in Granite Falls do not give access to build mode, the player has to buy one from a nearby ranger station.

I have never been evicted or punished for this. Beds are real cheapies though. But, at least you have a loo and shower available. You have to buy a lot. I assume you are setting cash to zero once you have placed your sim. So, you won't have money for sleeping bag, or tent anyway.
