Fearing for Marian's safety in the castle, Robin sets about rooting out the turncoat. His only clue is supplied by Marian: the spy's meeting place is located at the Trip To Jerusalem Inn, where the traitor outlaw sells his secrets to Gisborne.

S2, Ep6. The Sheriff's Black Knights gather at the castle to attend a feast and declare their allegiance to Prince John by signing the Great Pact of Nottingham. With the outlaws disguised as entertainers, Robin infiltrates the castle to join forces with the only man who can stop them: former Sheriff Edward's old ally and Black Knight, the Sheriff of Winchester.

Winchester's territory is key to the Sheriff's Shah Mat plan that will apprehend a homecoming King Richard at the southern ports.

S2, Ep7. Robin is determined to get hold of the Great Pact of Nottingham, written proof of the Sheriff's treason. So when lovelorn knight John of York John Hopkins and his chest of silver pass by Robin and the gang, and the Knight begs the outlaws to take pity on him and save his girl, Robin formulates a plan. S2, Ep8.

Marian wakes up in Sherwood Forest on the first day of the rest of her life as an outlaw with Robin and his gang. Surprising everyone with a new energy and recklessness, however, she jeopardises the gang's mission to bring aid to Clun Village after it's ransacked by the Sheriff's men. S2, Ep9. A mortally wounded, one-legged messenger from King Richard flees Locksley Manor pursued by Gisborne's men and ends up in the arms of Robin. With his dying breath, he tells Robin that the King needs him to return to fight in the Holy Land, and utters the word "Lardner".

S2, Ep Unfortunately, he goes missing on the very day that Prince John's messenger, Jasper, arrives to check all is well in Nottingham.

I love the portrayal of the Robin gang. They are having fun, playing, laughing, you really get a feel of the camaraderie between them, the closeness that comes from a tight bound group such as this.

Those bonding scenes are so important. I think that it being UK produced with British actors really made it better, compared to for example the feature film version with Kevin Costner, that just feels fake, fake, fake.

Christian Slater as Will Scarlet, come on.. The cast being able to speak English with British accent makes it more believable, and I get the feeling that the actors, as well as the director and writers, behind the series can put themselves much more into the shoes of the Robin Hood gang than an American crew could have.

The music is wonderful, Clannad is perfect for the feel of the series. The music is another of those things they just nailed. An exciting addition also is the fantasy and magic spice that is put in there. It's not over the top, but believable and just makes the whole thing better and more interesting.

I also love how nicely the mix of comedy, adventure and drama is blended. Those are a few of the things that makes this series so alive and so genuine. It's by far the best Robin Hood version I have ever seen. I won't wrap up with the "Nothing's forgotten" quote. But one thing that never will be forgotten, for me, is this fantastic Robin Hood retelling. See it. Details Edit. Release date January 15, United States. United Kingdom.
