Unable to boot windows in parallels

This bug check indicates that the Microsoft Windows operating system has lost access to the system partition during startup. I transferred a valid and activated copy of windows 10 free upgrade from Windows 7 to Parallels on my Mac. The copy in Parallels though says it is not activated. How do I activate this VM?
The original windows computer is now switched off and not used, but is a windows 7 virtual machine in Parallels on this Mac. If you have reserved and upgraded to Windows 10, we suggest you to contact the product activation team.
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. The same windows instance, when launched via Parallels 11, as "My Boot Camp", loses activation. Rebooting to "native" Boot Camp allows Windows to activate again. So, I contacted Microsoft Activation support. They were quite helpful, but needed verification that my Win10 is an upgrade and not a clean install.
